FOLLOWING a letter from the I Carmarthenshire and Cardiganshire police authority, the County Councils' Association has decided to approach the County Surveyors' Society to supply details of the extent of damage to highways by abnormal loads.

The letter made reference to the increase in the movement of abnormal loads on the roads in the police authority's area and asked the Association to give further consideration to the question of charges being made by the police for escort duties.
