Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

RLISTPROOFING steel, controlling corrosion of aluminium and its alloys, and prevention of tarnish on all metals are claims made for Antarnish which is now marketed by Silicone Treatments Ltd., 56 The Boulevard, Crawley, Sussex. The compound is invisible when applied and it is said to have good abrasion resistance so that it will last indefinitely.

Antarnish can be applied over paint And when used as a primer for cellulose or paint, the problems of orange peeling And cissing caused by silicone polish already on the paintwork are obviated. This claim is made by the manufacturer after initial tests, in which the procedure was to prepare the surface in the normal way, spray or brush on Antarnish (about 6 oz. was sufficient for a car) and allow to dry for about an hour. It was found that the action of Antarnish was to alter the composition of the silicone oil which causes bad adhesion of the paint applied over it. At the same time a satisfactory surface for a good adhesion was provided.

Silicone Treatments says that variations of procedure may be necessary in certain cases and will co-operate with users in giving further details or alterations of the product to meet specific needs.
