LAA BLANK refusal to consider introclueing legislation to amend the law on concessionary travel was given in the House of Commons last week by Mr. Harold Watkinson, Minister of Transport.
Mr. Harold Wilson (Lab„ Huyton), had drawn attention to the hardship caused in newly developed areas by the restriction of fare concessions to routes in operation in 1954.
Mr. Watkinson replied that any authority which wished to widen the scope of fare concessions could promote a private Bill.
