• Leyland Dafs "Popemobile", built in 1982, has been refurbished for Pope John Paul's visit to Africa this month. The nine-tonne vehicle is based on a Leyland Daf Co strutor and weighs nearly nini tonnes. It has a 115kW sixcylinder engine and a ten spel gearbox.
