Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

HESTAIR Dennis has announced that it is to re-enter the general haulage market and is looking for around 20 dealers spread around the country to handle the new vehicles.

A company spokesman told CM this week that Dennis is looking towards a return to simplicity in vehicles and service with the customer coming first.

The dealer network is to be set up roughly on the geo graphical lines of the traffic areas and will spread nationwide, separate from the municipal vehicles network.

Although a limited number of vehicles has continued to be produced in this field while a policy of specialisation was adopted, the decision has been made to go back into full production with a 16 tonner.

There is a choice of wheelbase dimensions from 3.1m (loft 8in) to 5.7m (18ft 7in) on a bolted chassis.

The Perkins T6.354 diesel engine producing 115 kW (155 ghp) at 2,600 rpm offers a power to weight ratio of 7kW /tonne (9.6 bhp/ton) as the standard power unit driving through an Eaton six speed synchromesh gearbox. Optional power units will include the Perkins 6.354 producing 89kW (120 bhp) coupled to an Eaton five speed box and two speed rear axle.

Automatic transmission can be obtained using the Allison MT643 coupled to either the more powerful V8.540 or T6.354 engines. The braking system uses full air cam brakes with spring type for both secondary and parking on both axles while the 393mm (151/2) drum brake fitted both front and rear provide a braking area of 35 sqcm per tonne (53 sqin per ton).

At the start, the vehicle will be fitted with a fire retardent glassfibre cab offering the advantage of light weight combined with strength.
