SISU of Helsinki, Finland, has just announced a new type of multi-purpose chassis using a modular structure. This is to satisfy the demand for a versatile chassis which can easily be adjusted for different purposes.
This will enable substantial savings to be made for both manufacturer and customer in terms of service and spare parts supply.
The entire chassis is based on five modules: 1. Front overhang and steering console 2. Front-axle and suspension 3. Engine and transmission 4. Chassis equipment a tanks 5. Suspension requireme: may be varied according to application but standard SI components are always us The chassis is equipped wit Finnish flat floor Valmet CRS six-cylinder turl charged diesel engine w 173 hp(DIN) and Allinson 11 640 or MT-650 automa transmission.
