FREIGHT Bonallack has announced a new 12.2m (40ft 6in) long grp dry freight trailer. Called "Freightervan" its main feature is a purpose-built load retention system — Freightlok — which the company considers to be superior to all other methods of cargo control for this type of vehicle.

The tandem-axle trailer is of chassisless construction with side walls constructed of one piece grp/plywood composite material with the plywood being encased in chopped strand matt-type grp.

The roof of the Freightervan has a one-piece aluminium panel riveted outside the cargo 'the side-wall frame.

The floor consists of steel cross-members overlaid with high quality, smooth surfaced, half-lapped board lft wide and 40ft long in Wain Malaysian hardwood.

Other features include full width opening double rear doors fixed both sides with grp, reinforced front bulkhead and mechanically • operated two speed landing legs.

The Freightlok system comprises mounting tracks fitted top and bottom of the trailer walls and running the length of the van sides. Heavy-duty rigid pillars are slotted vertically into the mounting tracks at the position required by the operator. The shoring poles are positioned across the load and secured into the pillars.

Because the mounting tracks are built into the side rail, rather than the wall there is no loss of internal width and the equipment is not directly to the grp wa there should be no probl with fixings working loose.
