• TIOLLOWING the agreement come to with the Scottish Motor Traction Co., Ltd., the Transport and General Workers Union has now made another agreement with the Scottish General Transport Co., Ltd., Kilmarnock. The effect will be that, after November 30th, the following scales of wages will be introduced, subject to a provision that, in the case of any wage which on November 80th is higher than that under the new scheme, no reduction will be made. Drivers on appointment will received is. 04d. per hour, increas ing by -Id. each six months until a maximum of is. 24-d. is reached after two years. A week of 48 hours in six days is to be guaranteed to 90 per cent. of drivers, conductors and conductresses, and the remaining 10 per cent. are to be guaranteed a week of 32 hours in six days; 25 per cent. extra is to be paid for work on Sundays end three of the annual holidays, and 50 per cent, extra on New Year's Day. An annual holiday of eight days, or 64 hours at the ordinary rate, with pay, is to be granted after each 12 months of continuous service from April 1st in any particular year.
