Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Rikki Chequer, community manager of TruckNet UK, reports on current hot topics at the driver forum.

Last week on TruckNet UK was one of our busiest weeks ever nearly 22,000 visitors came to read the website and participate in the discussions.

Among the debates that raised interest was a question about driving LGVs while being treated for depression. Some drivers told of their experiences with doctors when prescribed these drugs and it seems there is no real uniformity of approach either by doctors or the DVLA.

Another thread was launched by a question: is it reasonable for a driver who has been sent out in a different truck to normal and who has no night-out gear with him to refuse a run that would entail a night out?

Drivers for once are fairly united: as it is his planner's error that he has no gear, he should either be allowed to refuse or buy a sleeping bag etc and bill his employer. I am sure some employers will take a different view.

A well known chain of builders' merchants comes in for some criticism on the forums following its recruitment advert for Class 2 drivers in which it offers no more than the national minimum wage. Drivers ask who in their right minds would work for that kind of money and for a company that undervalues them so much.

Finally, the users of internet forums for professional drivers make up a small community, and many drivers are members of more than one website. One such driver, Steve known on line as Biggusdickus has been using drivers' forums for many years and is well known across all the websites. Many of us have had the pleasure of knowing Steve personally.

Steve is unfortunately very ill at the moment in hospital. From all his friends in the online communities at TruckNet UK, The Lorry Drivers Forums, The Professional Drivers Association, Online Truckers and Truckersworld we wish him the very best and hope for a speedy return to health (and naturally the CM team also sends Steve our best wishes Ed).
