The large order, and the biggest ever for Sherpa minibus chassis models, has been placed by the National Bus Company. A total of 490 Sherpas will be purchased by NBC, all of which will he converted into 16-seater PSVs by Dormobile of Folkestone and R Routes of Maidstone.

A further 225 Sherpas have been ordered by coachbuilders Carlyle Works of Edgbaston, Birmingham. These vehicles worth around £5 million will be used by United Transport International in its operations in Manchester, which are due to begin later this year.
