• ' The use of "something on the lines of the Volkswagen bus" within local areas of London was suggested by Mr_ William Molloy (Labour, Ealing North) on Tuesday in the Commons when he was referring to the reorganization of London Transport. This service, he said, could be of particular value for the housewife: there would be a fair number of these small buses so that if a woman missed one the next would be coming along almost at once. Such a service, he thought, would be much appreciated and would probably pay its way.
Mr. Molloy said he was somewhat worried about the direction in which the Government might be moving in trying to solve the problern of London Transport. He told the Transport Minister—and the Greater London Council—that the real reason why an efficient transport system had not been developed to meet London's need was that a magnificent service had been spoiled by being compelled to pay its way.
