Hanger Engineering's managing director, Mr. R. J. Shove, said last week that their objective was an annual growth in home and

would taken an even greater share of the company's capacity. The main product would continue to be vehicle bodies, and he emphasized that Hanger Engineering was -nonaligned" in respect of chassis manufacturers.

Mother addition to the range is a new version of the Eagle Compressload refuse collector, to be shown at the Public Works, Exhibition next week.

Mr. L. J. Newman has recently been promoted to take the post of general sales manager, municipal division, of the new concern, while Mr. S. C. Harrison has taken control of the commercial division. Mr. P. Hodson will shortly join as general sales manager, export division, while Mr. D. D. Jewell heads the marketing services department. Among other appointments, Mr. J. J. Burton will control the spares and service department.

The new Skyrig has an unusually wide operating range—over 39ft in height and over 22ft in reach from the centre of the vehicle. It has a rotating column with a two-piece arm and the basket on the upper arm has a capacity of 3cwt. Movement of the arms is pre-selected electrically by means of a switch, after which the movement is controlled by the actuator handle. Safety features include duplicated controls on the rotating column and the working basket, and automatic valves on the hydraulic rams which lock the arms immediately in the event of a hose or pipeline failure.

Standard bodywork consists of a 12ft 9in by 7ft lin, platform decking, with steps and a raised platform at the rear for access to the working basket. An alternative body provides a completely enclosed canopy for carrying maintenance equipment and spares.
