This journal Fosters, represents, and chronicles commercial motoring in all its branches: it is recognised and supported by Users, operating engineers, and the motor industry at large.

Next week's issue will contain the first reference to the accessory, component, stores, and tire exhibits at the forthcoming Olympia Show.

Notwithstanding the fact that no commercial motors will be exhibited on this occasion, .many parts and fittings possessing interest for users of these machines will be available for examination, and it is our intention to deal with such exhibits.

The importance of the accessory section is reflected in a notice issued on the 1st instant by the secretary of the British Empire Motor Trades Alliance, and increasing recognition is now being accorded to the undoubted merits of British-made accessories.

Selfridge and Waring, Limited, of 416, Oxford Street, W., which company, according to general report, intends " big things "in the furnishing and stores trades, writes to us as follows, under date October 3oth :—Re motors versus horse wagons for despatch purposes.—If you choose to send to us your recent numbers dealing with the advantages of motors for stores purposes, we shall be glad to peruse same." A copy of our special van number of October 18th has been sent to this company, and we now leave it to the industry to follow up the enquiry.

The business of Stagg and Robson, Limited, van and wagon builders, of Selby, Yorkshire, has not been acquired by the Selby Motor and General Engineering Company, Limited, as reported by us last week. The new company has only acquired some leasehold premises and plant from Stagg. and Robson, Limited, and we regret that our previous announcement erroneously went beyond that fact. No change has occurred in the constitution or management of the business of Stagg and Robson, Limited, and all orders or other communications intended for that company should be addressed strictly as heretofore. The business of the Selby Motor and Engineering Company, Limited, will be quite distinct from that of Stagg and Robson, Limited. Publication of our interview with the City Engineer of Cardiff, Mr. XV. Harpur, • is unayoidably postponed for inclusion in next week's issue.

The eleventh annual motor show at Liverpool is to be held from January 25th to February 2nd next, and early applications for space should be addressed to the secretary, Mr. Thomas Price, 77, Lord Street, Liverpool. Commercial motors, generally, receive special attention at the hands of visitors to this show, and the coming year should prove no exception.

Reports from Russia indicate that the output of agricultural and other machinery has been enormously hindered by the recent internal disaffections.

• His many friends have heard with regret of Mr. Dan Albone's sudden death, which occurred at Biggleswade on October 3oth. Mr. Albone was only in his 47th year. The lyel agricultural motor was one of his several interests where success resulted.

The Albion Motor Car Company, Limited, of Scoistoun, Giasgow, is opening a show room at 88, Mitchell Street, Glasgow, and examples of its commercial motors will be exhibited there. The directors of Argylls Motors, Limited, have recommended a dividend ol to per rent. on the ordinary shares for the year ending September 3oth last, that a sum of 4.ir,000 be placed to reserve account, that .‘19,850 be applied to depreciation of assets and writing down of preliminary expenses, and that the balance of 4'6,950 be carried forward.. The profits amounted to Z74,915, and the deductions, for debenture and other interests are .4:8,935. The growth of business in utility vehicles, which is sometimes questioned by those who have not been able to secure as large a share of the orders as they originally anticipated, is exemplified by the statistics of output supplied by the Albion Motor Car Company, Limited, whose sole concessionaire for England and Wales is the Lacre Motor Car Company, Limited, Poland Street, W. The ratio of increase has been from r to 4, as between the years 1904 and 1905, whilst the advance for the current year, over 1905, is as 4 to 9. These figures should convince everybody of the enormous strides that have been accomplished.
