Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Arrow Bulk Carrier Ltd, Hull, it was indicated that the fail-safe brake system was originated by the chief engineer, Mr John Dawson, whereas I was under the impression that it came from ERF Ltd. Who is correct ?

A We are sorry that we gave the impression 1P-1 that the spring brake system was originated by John Dawson, for it certainly was not. Neither, unfortunately, does it come from ERF although that company was the first to install it in a vehicle in the UK, The system has been used for quite a long time in the USA and was most probably 'invented by the Berg Corporation which is responsible for about 50 per cent of the units supplied in this country.
