Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

QOME 20,700 more goods vehicles, 'L./ general haulage and showmen's tractors and hackneys were in use last year than in 1951. The total number licensed at November 30 last was 1,071,600, compared with 1,050,900 a year earlier.

These figures are contained in "Mechanically propelled Road Vehicles, Great Britain, Return No. 160," which has just been published by the Stationery Office at 4s.

Of the 125,600 hackneys in use last November, 3,600 were trams. Hackneys (other than trams) with over eight scats numbered 72,200. The number of hackneys in service in November, 1951, was 130,800.

Goods vehicles showed an advance in number from 914,200 to 940,000. Of last November's total, 17,900 were elec. tries, 1,000 were driven by steam or gas, 45,100 were farmers' vehicles, 2,100 were employed by showmen and 1,600 by local authorities for watering duty, and 873,200 were " other " goods vehicles.
