was announced at a meeting of Glasgow Transport Committee on Monday. For the 10-month period to April 4. the surplus was 1170,000. Last year, during the same period, there was a heavy loss.
The current profit would have been turned into a heavy deficit, but for reductions in mileage run and other economies, reported the general manager, Mr. E. R. L. Fitzpayne. The approval of the corporation is to he sought for the engagement of industrial consultants to advise on the possibility of instituting an incentive scheme at the Larkfield repair depot.
