Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

I READ WITH interest about the collapse of Clearway and its estimated debt of £3.3m (CM 2 February). I then, in a separate story, ind that Farnsworth Consultancy is complaining about the way in which companies go bust, then assume new identities and contact the suppliers that they have previously owed money to.

Where has this consultancy been for the past decade? I mentioned the same thing in the letters page some time ago and received a great deal of feedback.

The Trafic Commissioners (TCs) are supposed to check that these “unscrupulous persons” will have inancial standing and the government should be checking the TCs.

I personally think that you should have one chance, and only one chance. I think that there should be a register of all failed businesses and all of the people involved with them. This may ensure that suppliers are not going to be out of pocket. If problems arise, then suppliers can see this and not deal with them. This register should also be free from any government intervention, so the government doesn’t charge for viewing!
