• The Prices and Incomes Board is to examine pay deals for busmen in Belfast, Glasgow and Liverpool, where rises ranging from 15s to £1 a week are involved. All these undertakings claimed to have reached productivity agreements—Glasgow and Liverpool by. negotiating improvements in Saturday work., But it is clear that the Ministry of Labour was not satisfied with the concessions, so the deals are to be examined together with the £1 a week national award to 77,000 municipal busmen and the local agreement at Nottingham. The reference to the NB shows that the Government will not allow breakaway deals to slip through and is anxious to hold the line on bus pay until the
report in the summer.
