Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Sumo Overland Direct International Transport (SODIT) was forced to withdraw its application for an Operator's Licence at a public inquiry after it emerged that applicant Linda Carstairs was associated with failed haulage f rm, Sumotrans.

This followed a formal objection by the Road Haulage Association. Solicitor for the RHA, Chris Over of Over Taylor Biggs, told the inquiry that "Jock" and Linda Carstairs "were not fit and proper persons to hold an 0-licence". They had been involved with liquidated company,Sumotrans, which failed to honour a consent order for 47 monthly payments of ,2250 for a truck purchased on credit The company also owed £6,500 for corporation tax.

For SODIT, Paul Carless expressed regret at the unfortunate acronym and insisted that the Carstairs would have no involvement in the running of the company, Traffic Commissioner Philip Brown denied his request for an adjournment and SODIT withdrew its application.
