• Yorkshire Rider has won the contract to run the trolleybus service due to start in Bradford in June 1991. West Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive invited tender applications, but only Yorkshire Rider and South Yorkshire Transport bid for the work.
Yorkshire Rider now has to decide whether to buy about 12 vehicles and apply for a subsidy to operate the system, or to lease them from the PTE.
The PTE is tendering for the design and construction of the 10km line from the city to Buttershaw.
