A SEMINAR on improving vehicle productivity through better design and selection of vehicles was to be held in London by the Institute of Management Services yesterday.

Speakers at the seminar included R. E. Armstrong (Leyland Vehicles), Peter Whittaker and Les Rourke (Scammell Trailers) and Roger Dennis (Bass Production).

Mr Armstrong was due to discuss the first principles of vehicle design and selection as wqll as dealing with optimism performance ranges, sizes and cost equations.

Continuing Mr Whittaker and Mr Rourke advised delegates on the correct design and selection of trailers and bodywork as well as the big truck market place, standard versions non-standard design and payload/performance.

Concluding, Roger Dennis gave a user's view with particular emphasis on special uses. The seminar was organised by the Institute's transport and distribution specialist group and held at the Hotel Russell.
