PREDICTED Government cuts in road building have been greeted with a resounding cry of dismay.
And speaking at the annual general meeting of the British Road Federation in London last week, its chairman Tony de Boer claimed the "road spending cuts will damage the Government's own industrial strategy".
He continued: "William Rodgers has passed the buck on a range of issues to local councils and the public transport authorities. But only the Government can give the lead and take the decisions on long term investment planning.
