The Lord Chancellor's Department has published a consultation paper proposing changes to the current small claims procedure. The proposals include:
• Increasing the small claims limit from £3,000 to £5,000 in April 1999;
• Setting the initial upper limit of the proposed fast-track at £15,000; • Dealing with personal injury claims between 41,000 and £15,000 in the fast-track system.
