Patent holder

After reading your article "Get Your Skates 0n" concerning Loadmate Systems and Frigoscandia, Grimsby, (CM 20-26 Nov 1997), I would like to put on record that I not only designed the Loadmate-compatible trailer system, but hold the necessary patents.

Transcel and Phil Griffiths of Hydroroll (formerly Transport Technology who commissioned this equipment) are fully aware of these facts, as I agreed and sold a temporary licence for the manufacturer of these systems for Frigoscandia My company has also built a Loadmatecompatible trailer, designed to work at the Aylesford Paper Mill.

We are a transport company specialising in press room distribution and are always on the lookout for new business. We approached logistics manager Doug Pulham, of Aylesford Newsprint, during the building and development of the mill, Whilst no guarantee of work was given, we felt that the Transcel trailer designed for their Loadmate system, would not be flexible enough for our customer base and that we would want our trailer to be multi-purpose, eg flat platform closing the exposed wide Loadmate channels.

After consultation with Jim Cramp of trailer manufacturer Tilt Techniek of Barking, we set to work designing an air-driven, rising top plate which would close the channels when not in use creating an almost flat floor, and in the down position would guide the heavy and robust Loadmate skates along the tracks premoulded into the top plate.

We would also offer this automatic system to other hauliers contracted to the Aylesford Mill.

Unfortunately, due to the lack of time, most of the trailers had already been built for Aylesford using the original Transcel design when our system became available. But should there be any interest in our automatic system, I would be very happy to demonstrate the Loadmate Aylesford Newsprint-compatible trailer.

It is an extremely solid and durable system built to last and totally compatible with the Loadmate docking system. Some kits are available from stock.
