OWednesday it was still uncertain 1,-./ as to whether the Standard exhibit at the Brussels Show would include an example of the new oil-engined chassis.
The power unit is a development of the successful engine employed in the Ferguson tractor. As fitted in the commercial vehicle it develops 40 b.h.p. at a governed speed of 3,000 r.p.m., the claimed fuel consumption being at the rate of 42-45 m.p.g. A maximum torque of 84 lb.-ft. is developed at 1,050 r.p.m. It is a 2.09-litre unit and runs on a compression ratio of 17 to I.
