A "HIGHLY EFFICIENT and sophisticated" file I -la un d e ring plant with an estimated weekly output of 150,000 litres has been smashed by HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) officers in Northern Ireland.

The joint operation with police in Co Armagh led to 3.000 litres of illegal fuel being seized and six tonnes of toxic acid waste removed. Estimated revenue loss from the laundered fuel would have been £3.75m.

A curtainsider adapted to work as a fuel tanker, storage tanks and an assortment of pump and filtration equipment were also seized in the operation. DAF HAS LAUNCHED a heavy haulage tractor unit and uprated the transmission on its tippers.

The XF105 FTM is an 8x4 heavy transport tractor with double

drive tandem and steered leading rear axle. Powered by the 12.9-litre six-cylinder Paccar MX engine, producing up to 510hp with 2,500Nm of torque, it is rated for GCWs up to 120 tonnes.

The CF75 and CF85 6x4 and 8x4 rigids have gained ZF ASTronic automated boxes for allterrain work.
