'HIE CENTENARY celebrations held recently by Dailmler-Benz concentrated, somewhat naturally, on cars rather than commercial vehicles. However, commercials do figure in 1)-B's "Welt Mobile" (mobile world) exhibition which will visit several German cities in the next few months. Among exhibits of interest is evidence that Mercedes-Benz is working on GRP springs (left). Those on show would be suitable for light vans and medium trucks.
Also on show is a concept for a 'modular' vehicle, based on a universal cab and floorpan to which bodywork of various types could be attached (above).
