Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

the hgv licence test will the trainee have to keep a log book? What is the position so far as the instructor is concerned? Will he have to keep a log book too?

ADrivers' records must be kept by every

driver of a heavy goods vehicle except those who do not drive more than four hours a day and do not drive outside a 25-mile radius of the depot.

If during training the vehicle is not taken outside the stipulated radius and the actual driving is limited to four hours then the trainee does not need to keep records. On the same basis, neither does the instructor. But remember, if either of these conditions is not fulfilled on any day in the week, then records are necessary for the whole week.

This means that if the instructor is concerned with teaching the trainee for part of the week only, and is engaged on operational driving for the rest then the instructor must keep records for the whole of the week.
