Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

AS a result of a mass meeting of 300 coach and bus drivers and conductors held in Croydon, last week, a unanimous resolution condemning the nationalization of passenger services and stating the views of bus crews on Slate control, was sent to Mr. Attlee, Mr. Churchill, Mr. Peter Thorneycroft and other Members of Parliament.

The principal speaker at the meeting, called by drivers in South London, was Mr. A. Tegerdine, founder of the Bus Workers' Anti-nationalization Society. The chairman was Mr. A. E. Yeates, a driver employed by Surrey Motors, Ltd., Sutton, and he was supported by Mr. C. Callaghan, of Venture Transport, Ltd.. Mr. Shrubb, of Epsom Coaches. Ltd.. and Mr. Brown, of Messrs. Graves Coaches. Redhill. . A further decision of the meeting was that drivers should write individually to their M.P.s, and "The Commercial Motor" is, informed that many have already done so.

B6 During the meeting, proposals to organize local branches of the Antinationalization Society met with much support, and four branches representing north, south, east and west London were formed. Mr. Yeates was elected chairman of the south London section, with Mr. E. C. Jacobs, also of Surrey Motors, Ltd., as secretary. His address was given as 14, Hillview Road, Sutton. Names of the chairmen and secretaries of the other branches are not yet available.

Observers at the meeting spoke of the extraordinary enthusiasm of the drivers and of their strong support for the Society. An operator who adtended the meeting said afterwards that he was much impressed by the attitude of the men and was glad that something had been started to bind the workers of the road passenger transport industry together, to drive out the Colossus of nationalization.
