MR. RAYMOND GUY PALMER is managing director and chairman of the Eagle Engineering Co., Ltd., which position he has held for the Past 13 years, and it is interesting to note that since he took over control very rapid progress has been made. He has been instrumental in the development of numerous types of road.haulage plant, and has taken out many patents for municipal appliances, particularly relating to hygienic refuse collection. Mr. Palmer is chairman of the Eagle Wireless Supplies, Ltd., a director of the Warwick Gas Co., and, for a period of eight years, has been chairman of the Warwick and Leamington Engineers Employers Association. He is a member of the Royal Agricultural Society of England, and chairman of the Warwickshire Implement Dealers' Association. Mr. Palmer was born in 1883 and became a pupil at the Eagle Works, Warwick, which he left at the age of 22 for Ruston and Hornsby, Ltd. Later he held an important position at Stewarts and Lloyds, of Birmingham. His war work included laying the whole of the water supply to the camps at Salisbury Plain, and the erection of many of the explosive factories throughout the country. His hobbies are art and gardening.
