Leads IRTE event
SOCIETY OF Operations Engineers patron and former First Group chief executive Sir Moir Lockhead will deliver the keynote address at the Institute of Road Transport Engineers (IRTE) conference next month. Sir Moir will discuss technological developments and the secrets of delivering business and operational success. Presentation speakers and topics include: • David Cebon, professor of mechanical engineering at Cambridge University, on sustainable road freight; • Ricardo, Iveco and Scania representatives on Euro-6; • Wincanton technical services director Dave Rowlands on the total cost of ownership and longer trailers; • BAE Systems and Alexander Dennis representatives on hybrid and electric drivelines; • Fowler Welch, Sainsbury's and KBC Logistics on reducing fuel consumption;
• Workshop accreditation with Vosa/traffic commissioners.
