Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

STAR feature of the latest industrial truck from Lansing Bagnall, Ltd., lsleworth, Middlesex, is interchangeability of petrol and electricity as the motive power. Capacity is 10-12 cwt., the body is of the platform type, and the alternative power units are a J.A.P. 412 c.c. air-cooled engine or an electric motor, details of which are to be announced later.

An all-welded frame of -compact design gives great strength. It is made from steel sections by arc welding. The load platform is sheet steel, with a Fin. rave to control the load. The frame allows rapid removal of the driving uniE for repairs, replacement, or conversion.

There is a towing bracket at the rear of the frame for quick linkage to trailers when the vehicle is employed as a tractor. Trailer pay-load is 3 tons.

Pressed-steel divided-rim wheels are standard and twin rear wheels ensure stability and good tractive effort. Heavy-duty tyres of 16-in. by 4-in. see n() tion are fitted all round. Girling brakes operate on both driving wheels, actuated by a pedal near the steering column. There is a pistol-grip parking brake.

In the case of the petrol engine, power output is 4.5 b.h.p. at 2,200 r.p.m. Ignition is by impulse-starter magneto, and a centrifugal governor curbs engine speed and may be pre-set. Transmission is by chain, with a multiple-disc clutch. Principal dimensions are as follow:— Length, 8 ft. 6 ins.; width, 3 ft.; wheelbase, 5 ft. 61 ins.; track (front), 2 ft. 41 ins.; track (rear), 121 ins ; height to' towing bracket, 1 ft. 31 ins. Dimensions of the platform are:—Length, 5 ft.; width, 3 ft.; height, 1 ft. 5 ins.

This would appear to be a lightweight and economical vehicle, with, nevertheless, a high performance, which can be applied to the transport of materials for all types of industry.
