THE Road Haulage Wages Council was due to meet yesterday (Thursday) to consider representations which, as reported last week, have been made against the proposed increases in haulage pay and overtime rates.

It is understood that one of the views to be taken into account is that expressed by a junior minister at the Economic Affairs Ministry, who commented that the equivalent of a 7 per cent increase, in the absence of improved productivity, contravened the Government's policy on prices and incomes.
