PRESSURE is still being exerted by the Public Transport Association for the denationalization of the road passenger transport industry. They had two meetings last year with the Minister of Transport, and a full statement, with two supporting arguments, has been made to the Minister on the need for early steps in this direction. ,This is noted in the report of the council for 1954.
Operating interests have examined the question of traffic congestion and control, with a view to safeguarding operators and the travelling public. A memorandum has been sent to the Minister, who is being asked this week. to receive a deputation to discuss the matter.
