Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• There were two notable debuts at this year's Fire International show held this week at the NEC, Birmingham.

Simon Engineering from Dudley in the West Midlands unveiled its ST telescopic fire fighting platforms fitted to a Volvo FL10 6x4 chassis.

The ST240-S and ST300-S telescopic platforms provide 25.5m and 31.5m working heights respectively with full turntable rotation.

Simon says the combination of the ST turntable platform and the Volvo FL10 chassis makes for a compact and manoeuverable fire fighting vehicle, with a 10m length and 3.3m height.

South Yorkshire has ordered the FLIO exhibited at the show, and similar versions are destined for Derbyshire and Somerset.

Also making its debut at the show was the latest airfield crash tender from Fire Trucks of Micheldean. The 6x 6 Marlin is built on a Reynolds Boughton Griffin 5 chassis using a modular glass fibre body from Northern Counties.

can carry 12,000 litres of water and 1,440 litres of foam in reinforced GRP tanks.

The 6x6 Marlin is powered by a 568kW Detroit Diesel engine, which propels the 31tonne vehicle to a 1081tm/h top speed. Off road trials of the Marlin are expected to begin later this year.
