DAIHATSU (UK) is shortly to introduce the new S60 range light commercials to the UK, beginning with the van version i October 20.
It is powered by a 18kW (25bhp) 547cc (33.4 cuin) two cylinder four-stroke watercooled engine driving through a four-forward-speed allsynchromesh gearbox to a conventional rigid axle.
Hydraulically operated drum brakes are fitted to all four wheels. Suspension is by wishbone with balljoint, coil spring and double-actir telescopic dampers at the fro and semi-elliptic leaf-sprin with double-acting telescor dampers at the rear.
Load area is 1750m (68.9in) long, 1215mm (47.8i wide and 1130mm (44.5in) hil and payload is 565kg (124611 Gross vehicle weight is 1250] (27561b).
A pick-up version of the SE similar to the Honda Acty, ss, be available from Novemb 10 with either a three sid opening load area (S60P) opening tailgate (S60T).
Specification is basically ti same as that of the van exce the payload is 815kg (15761 (S60P) or 805kg (15541 (S60T) with a gross vehic weight of 1300kg (28861b).
In January 1980 Daihat will introduce a long whei base version of its four-whe drive vehicle. The wheelbas€ Lip from 2025mm (79.7 in) 2700 mm (106.3 in).
