PASSENGER TRANSPORT
THE Draft Regulations concerning contract-carriage records have been circulated to national associations of operators, by the Minister of Trinsport for their consideration.
To be known as The Public Service Vehicles (Contract Carriage Records) Regulations, 1934, it is required that a record shall be made by the holder of the public service licence not later than 72 hours after the completion of the journey to which it relates. A work ticket must else be carried by the driver under the provision of section 25 of the Road Traffic Act, 1934.
Each record must contain particulars regarding the time and date of the ' commencement and terrrapation of the journey and the point at which the journey commenced and terminated, and sufficient description of the route to show the extent of the journey.

ney. In the case of both record and work ticket the name and address of the person who made the arrangements for the bringing together of all the passengers for the purpose of maldng.the journey as a party must be given.
There is nothing in the Regulations to prevent the required particulars being entered in such a manner that the work ticket carried by the driver may afterwards form the record to be made and preserved by the holder of the public service vehicle licence. The penalty for non-compliance or contravention of the Regulations is the liability on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding £5.
