The National Freight and International Freight Certificate of Professional Competence do not expire, much like your A-levels However,TCs will be pleased to see that a CPC refresher course has been taken it say, a public inquiry is called to establish good repute. The RHA runs frequent two-day courses at locations throughout the UK.

The TC will look at any relevant convictions that you (or any employees) have had in the past five years.

They may also take into account any other matters that affect your good repute, including those brought up by any objectors to your application.

You must be frank about any such convictions when you complete the application form.

If you don't inform the TC of convictions incurred during the life of the licence, you may have your licence revoked or a request to extend a licence refused.

Any employee who holds the professional competence qualification must also meet the good repute requirement.
