The DSA considered the position of drivers, such as engineers or mechanics, who deliver changeover lorries to a location where there has been a breakdown. It concluded that this is covered by the CPC exemption, which means Driver CPC does not apply to drivers of vehicles carrying material or equipment to be used by the driver in the course of his or her work, provided that driving the vehicle is not the driver's principal activity.
