THE RANGE of MAN trucks available in the UK has been extended considerably during the year and many examples can be seen in Glasgow.

Making its debut is the new 100-ton " jumbo " 6x4 tractive unit with a naturally aspirated V10 engine which produces 246kW (330bhp) at 2,500rpm. The cab features sliding doors to give additional control when manoevuring. Semi-automatic transmission from ZF is included in the transmission specification.

The same V10 engine provides the power for the 44tonne (43.3-ton) 4x2 tractive unit, the 19.330FT, which is shown equipped with a for ward-control double-bunk sleeper tilt cab.

As well as examples of the familiar 16.232 models, the MAN display also includes the eight-wheeler which made its debut at Earls Court last year and which uses many of the mechanical components to be found in the 16.232 range.

The heavy duty tipper/ dumper with semi-forward control is exhibited for 32tonne on-site operation.
