• The port transport operations of the Hay's Wharf company at Tooley Street. in the London Dock area, will be discontinued from November 28. Operations have been handicapped by recurring labour troubles following repeated attempts by the company to reduce labour costs. Furthermore, a considerable part of the container trade in the area has been diverted to East Coast ports. Over 1,000 men were employed on the company's wharves two years ago.
