• The Yorkshire distributor of Atkinsons. Comberhill (Yorkshire) Garages Ltd., Wakefield, has started a vehicle-leasing scheme. The leasing period is five years and an initial down-payment of three months' charges has to be made in advance.
There is an option of replacing the hired vehicle by a new one after three years of the five-year term, the remaining two years' hire charge then being rather greater.
Hiring charges can be wholly offset against profits for taxation purposes, says Comberhill.
