• Shearings Coach and Bus of Wigan is expanding into North Wales with the purchase of Llandudno-based Gwalia Coaches. This comes less than two months after the company's last takeover of Eagle Coaches of Tunbridge Wells.
The sale includes a depot at Llandudno junction and 23 vehicles; proprietor Gordon Roberts is to stay on as unit manager for Shearings, and 23 staff are to remain with the company. Seven new tour coaches will move to the Llandudno Junction base and the Gwalia fleet will be replaced with newer coaches.
