Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

NALGO has rejected a proposal by the joint Passenger Transport Executives which would alter subsistence payments to staff. The PTE's wanted to make payment for "addition expenditure" incurred by overtime. They believed that this would rectify anomalies in payments but the union argued that it constituted a worsening of conditions.

The PTE's are also considering issuing joint advice on how honoraria should be paid for planned overtime above the agreed limit. Again they failed to reach agreement at the Joint Neogitating Committee and the proposal is being reconsidered.

Nalgo has advised the employers of a "substantial pay demandfollowing a meeting of

the joint trade unions last Tuesday. Negotiations are due to 'open in July and the claim is for improvements from September 1 The National Bus Company will shortly be faced with demands for higher shift payments, and an agreement for redundancy, resettlement and severance payments.
