Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

My colleague who interviewed Mrs Benny King for our Meet column last week tells me that this vivacious lady came up with a bit of logical comment so devastating that I can't think why it hasn't dawned on someone before. She said she was glad that Greater Manchester Transport had chosen a woman (herself in fact) as communications manager, because more than twothirds of the passengers were women and children.

Obvious when you think about it — yet how much real account is taken of this in the design and operation of buses? Do you detect even so much as a nod towards the ladies, or the children, in bus interiors?

Next step, perhaps, women managers for bus undertakings?
