MR FRED MULLEY, the Transport Minister, told MPs last week that he would continue to resist strenuously the EEC proposals for heavier lorry weights.
He said that the enforcement effort to see that foreign lorries entering this country complied with UK regulations was being increased.
He would be issuing soon a consultation document on lorry routes which would apply to Continental as well as to British vehicles.
