I refer to the article "The legs we need" (CM, May 19).
I enclose a photograph showing that both Mr Mousley and the Design Council are wrong. Pitt Trailers built about 20 such machines in the early 1960s powered by their own diesel-hydraulic power pack The prototype was shown ti the press and probably featured in your journal. On of the photographs taken that day includes our old friend John Dickson-Simpson.
