GREATER Manchester Transport has had its application to increase fares by about 11.7 per cent agreed by the North Western Traffic Commissioners, despite a number of objections.
The fare increase is part of GMT's continued policy of regular modest increases which it has followed for the past two years and has, it is claimed, caused minimal loss of passengers.
The increases have been designed also to be fair to all passengers, while keeping the scale simple for both passengers and platform staff.
