A winch that may be used for tightening load securing ropes — introduced by Intertruck — can be fitted to the underside of either wood or aluminium vehicle bodies. The securing rope is looped over the winch drum hook and tightened by winding with a removable tensioning handle. When the rope is in tension, a quick-release pawl and ratchet mechanism holds it fast.
