and double-deckers, the B.E.S.T. undertaking in Bombay has taken over from private operators services in the eastern suburban area of the city.
It is hoped that 100 buses ordered last year will all be on the road soon. ln the current year, 50 buses are needed for replacements and 90 for expansion of services. In 1955-1956, 115 singledeckers and 35 double-deckers will be added to the fleet.
Budget estimates for 1955-1956 showed a surplus of Rs. 4,097,000, a slight improvement on the figures for the previous year.
Estimated income for the bus section of the undertaking was Rs.35,928.000,
